I GOT THE LADDER IN THE HOLE AND I CLIMBED OUT!
cocaine and alcohol misuse, couple of suicide attempts
As I sat in the darkness with every light on, with the worst feeling of emptiness, I could see no way to keep going on. After two suicide attempts, one putting me in hospital and the other causing me to go to jail when my girlfriend panicked, the light finally shined down upon me.
The light shined ever so slightly. One thin bin hole of light in a room of total darkness. As the weeks and months went on the light got brighter and brighter as someone was slowly twinge up the dimmer switch.
While I was sitting in the cell in the jail, feeling lost and despair, Dr deGoias visited me and gave me hope to find myself and have a life I always wanted , I just did not know how to do it.
Over the months Andrea and Dr. deGoias have shown me how to look inside of myself and turn the light on! Without their help I don’t ever want to think where I would be……
I have learned that life is not perfect and we all make mistakes. Now I know that I can use my mistakes as LESSONS IN LIFE, LEARND FROM THEM, AND MOVE FORWARD. I accept that life is a chaos, and the only thing I can change is my view on life and I can chose how I manage myself. Stop and think, not just react.
I feel that I got the focus back on my life, I have a job, supportive family and I am looking forward to my future with hope and confidence. I take new challenges as it comes, and I don’t want to run away from the seemingly unpleasant situations, because I know that when I go through the tough time IWILL BE A STORONGER PERSON. I appreciate a process more than a destination.
Thank you for being there for me when I needed the most encouragements, guidance and positivity.
