Prometheum Institute was opened in February 2004 with a unique objective. This is to provide clients with direction, not to recover from an addiction, but to embrace life more satisfyingly.  None of our counsellors is a recovering addict.  Thus, we do not have a personal experience in recovery.  Nonetheless, we have studied addictions objectively and can advise on the difficulties one may encounter in the process. 

Our expertise, however, lies in our understanding of life management, that of being satisfied, purposeful, and confident even when life is disruptive and demanding.  We know where to take you to, not where to take you from.  In this arena, we choose our counsellors who are themselves satisfied, purposeful, and confident and who have learned how to keep these attitudes, not because life has been easy>  Our counsellors have faced adversity, difficulties, and disruption and have managed through tough and unrewarding times.

Our objective is to offer competent, sophisticated counselling at a highly personalized and cognitive level to persons who want more than a cookie-cutter approach to personal feelings and actions, more than being placed in a group where they are counselled along a path determined by their label, and more than chemical chains that hamper their ambitions while purporting to control the symptoms their unbalanced approach to life may have caused.
